Application Prerequisites

Undergraduate Degree. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university in the United States or its equivalent abroad.

Statistics and Pre-Calculus. The core curriculum is fairly quantitative; a foundation in statistics and pre-calculus is essential. We want you to be prepared for the coursework you'll take at the Heinz School so we require at least one college-level course in one of these areas. If you did not take one or both of these classes in college, don't worry, you're still eligible for admission. If you did not take a course in either subject in college, you will be invited to participate in the Quantitative Skills Summer Program (QSSP), a free six-week preparatory program in the summer prior to your enrollment at the Heinz School. There's another option: you can take that course on your own - at an accredited institution - prior to enrollment. Don't worry too much about the particulars. Once admitted, you'll receive more detailed information about this requirement if it applies to you.

International Student Requirements

Our admissions staff are always happy to correspond with you by email and over the phone. If you would like more information or have questions not answered in the web site, please contact the admissions office.
