|
| |
If you use the Heinz School's online application the $50 application fee is waived. Otherwise you can use the Heinz School's paper application. Download the application or fill out the request-for-information form (on the Heinz School's web site) and you will receive an application in the mail. Applicants are responsible for completing and submitting their applications on time and in accordance with the following admission guidelines:
- Application. The application form can be completed online or you can use the paper form. If you use the paper form, please make sure that it is legible, typed (if possible) or written neatly. All additional sheets, including essay, work history, etc. should be typed and signed.
- Transcripts. One official transcript is required from all colleges and universities attended, regardless of whether credit or a degree was obtained. Transcripts must be enclosed in an envelope and signed across the seal by the registrar's office. Forward the transcript(s), along with the other application materials, to the Heinz School Admissions Office. If your college or university will not give official copies of transcripts directly to students, please request that they send them (in sealed envelopes) directly to the Heinz School Admissions Office.
- Recommendations. Recommendation forms must be completed by three individuals who are able to evaluate your intellectual, academic or professional capacity. All recommendations must be submitted in sealed envelopes, signed by the recommender across the seal, and enclosed with your completed application materials or returned directly by the recommender.
- GRE/GMAT. All applicants are required to take either the Graduate Records Exam (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). If you have not had any undergraduate coursework in management, we strongly suggest that you take the GRE. If taking the GRE, only the general test is required (Verbal and Quantitative). If you took the test more than five years ago, you must take it again. Test scores must be submitted directly by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). When registering for the test, please use the following codes:
- GRE: 2074 (institution code) and 1903 (department code)
- GMAT: 2176
- TOEFL. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. The only exception is for applicants who have received a degree from a university at which English is the primary language of instruction. If you took the test more than two years ago, you must take it again. Test scores must be submitted directly by ETS. When registering for the test, please use the following codes: 2074 (institution code) and 94 (department code)
- Application Fee. A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required of all applicants, except those submitting an application on-line. A personal check, money order or cashier's check for the exact amount should be made payable to Carnegie Mellon University.
- Submission. Once you receive all recommendations and transcripts, send them with the application, all supporting documents and the application fee to:
